Why you should attend:
Have you ever been frustrated, as a patient, family member or clinician by lack of collaboration among clinicians? This workshop is for everyone who’s looking for solutions in developing physician management and leadership skills. Today’s healthcare delivery system calls for physician leaders who understand the softer skills such as self-awareness, conflict management, teamwork, change management and emotional intelligence, important for teamwork in the age of chronic diseases and Accountable Care Organizations. Community of Champions, the Veterans Health Administration’s national physician leadership initiative, is a year-long program combining in-person meetings, group coaching telephone calls and individual executive coaching to improve participants’ skills in these areas, measured by goal attainment and pre- and post-assessments.
Objectives:
- Distinguish physician strengths and areas for improvement in management and leadership.
- Find out about the 70-20-10 Rule in developing leaders.
- Plan a leadership action plan.
Accreditation:
The George Washington University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing education for physicians.
