Translational Research in Pediatrics Program (TRIPP)

As an example of our partnerships, CTSI-CN works with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center on collaborative translational studies in pediatric populations, including rare conditions. In the context of the TRIPP partnership, the CTSI-CN has assisted with the progress of:

  • Matching projects with Principal Investigators at
  • Children’s National and the NIH Clinical Center
  • Addressing logistical considerations: study personnel, testing facilities, shipping, and storage of samples
  • Facilitating collaborative interaction between Internal
  • Review Boards at Children’s National and GW to expedite study approval and avoid duplication of effort
  • Arrangements for no- or low-cost bed-days at Children’s
  • National and for other hospital services (imaging, laboratory, etc.), using Children’s-discounted rates for NIH studies
  • Support throughout the study operation to ensure smooth study coordination, database development/management, and data collection
