GW Responsible Conduct of Research Seminar Series will feature distinguished speaker: Ivan Oransky, MD, Co-Founder, Retraction Watch; Editor in Chief of Spectrum and Distinguished Journalist In Residence at New York University’s Carter Journalism Institute

Following this session, attendees will:

  • understand trends in retractions of scientific papers; and
  • consider steps the community might take to clean up the literature more effectively and promote trust.

These sessions are open to faculty, postdocs, students, and staff at GW, Children’s National, and academic institutions in the D.C. region. They are designed to help attendees meet the Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research training requirements set by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and other federal agencies.

They are hosted by the GW Office of the Vice Provost for Research and its Office of Research Integrity & Compliance. For questions related to the event, contact Lela Abramishvili at lela.abramishvili@gwu.edu.

GW is committed to promoting the highest standards of ethical research and scholarly conduct while pursuing its research mission. This session is part of GW’s comprehensive Responsible Conduct of Research program, which includes events hosted by the Office of Research Integrity and Compliance and other campus partners.
