"Variable Importance Scores" with Eduardo A. Trujillo Rivera, PhD

In this meeting of the Explainable Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group Dr. Trujillo Rivera will discuss a paper by Wei-Yin Loh and Peigen Zhou (accessible through https://jds-online.org/journal/JDS/article/1250/info). In this paper, Loh and Zhou compare the performance of several variable importance scores used in predictive modeling. They observe deficiencies in some of the scoring methods, and propose a modification of the GUIDE algorithm to ensure an unbiasedness score.
